COVID-19 UPDATE

Our action Re: Training Schools and Community Events

December 1, 2020

YWAM Redding friends and family,

No one could have predicted the current state of our nation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Our YWAM Redding Leadership Team is consistently working to create appropriate responses to US Government requests and guidelines. Throughout this pandemic, our priority is to ensure the safety and the health of our entire community. We are currently and will continue to follow the suggested CDC and WHO guidelines.

Our current Discipleship Training School commenced September 28th! Upon arrival, all students were quarantined for a week before immersing into the community. The school has been running for nearly 2 months with complete health and safety! As of now, we are preparing to run the Discipleship Training School in Winter 2021.

We are constantly monitoring the CDC and WHO safety guidelines. We are taking all reasonable steps to protect our families, staff, and incoming students. In November of 2020, multiple COVID-19 cases were reported among our staff and students. Those who showed symptoms or tested positive were quarantined away for 10 days (per CDC guidelines) from those with no symptoms and negative test results. As of now December 1st, all of our staff and students are healthy and COVID free! We continue to have mandated strict, “mask in all common areas” (offices excluded) guidelines within our community as well as rigorous cleaning processes throughout our campus to continually promote safety and sanitation.

Please join us in prayer over our nation, our leaders, the essential workers, healing for the sick, and peace for the unsettled. Now is such a powerful time to be praying for the nations! Pray that the perfect love of Jesus Christ would be shown to cast out all fear throughout this time of need. Continually check back with us, as we will be posting updates frequently.

Thank you,

The YWAM Redding Leadership Team

Frequently Asked Questions

How is YWAM Redding responding to the COVID-19 outbreak?

Our YWAM Redding Leadership Team is working consistently to stay informed of and respond appropriately to the changing events of this global issue. Our first priority is to ensure the safety of all community members. We are currently and will continue to follow the suggested CDC and WHO guidelines.

What are you requiring of students entering the YWAM Redding community?

We are asking any students joining our schools beginning January 4, 2021 to get a COVID-19 test one week prior to their arrival. If their test result comes back negative, the student will be housed within the YWAM Redding community upon their arrival. If their test result comes back positive, the student will need to stay off-campus in an AirBnb, Hotel, or with a friend or family member for one week. YWAM Redding will not be covering the cost of this expense. One week later, they will be allowed to move into community housing.

Are you taking extra health or sanitation measures?

We are constantly monitoring the CDC and WHO safety guidelines. We are taking all reasonable steps to protect our families, staff, and incoming students. While there are no reported COVID-19 cases among our staff or students we have mandated strict, “mask in all common areas” (offices excluded) guidelines within our community as well as rigorous cleaning processes throughout our campus to continually promote safety and sanitation.

Can guests still visit the base?

We are currently unable to host overnight guests. However, our community worship time is available to the public; we ask any visitors, staff, and students to wear a mask during worship.

Are community worship and House of Prayer open to the public?

Our community worship/prayer time is available to the public beginning September 28th; however, we ask any visitors, staff, and students to wear a mask during worship.

What happens if I get COVID during my time with YWAM Redding?

Every student will sign a Student Agreement Form prior to the start of their school. Included in this agreement reads: “If you test positive for COVID at any time during your school, you will be asked to quarantine offsite. You will be responsible to cover the cost of accommodation. YWAM Redding will still provide your food.

Are you still running schools and planning outreaches?

Yes, all schools scheduled will be running.

As of December 1st, students will have the option to participate in an overseas outreach during our Fall 2020 Quarter, or participate in a stateside outreach. We are currently offering stateside options for our future DTS outreach phases in case potential COVID-19 travel restrictions arise.
